For three sopranos (Serena, Pro Angel, Con Angel) and pianist.
The opera takes place in a simple bathroom — a tub, a sink, and a mirror are the only set pieces.
We follow Serena as she waits for the results of a home pregnancy test. She doesn't know if she wants to be pregnant or not. She is visited by two angels, both herself. One angel argues in favor of being pregnant and the other against it.

Do you laugh inside me at twenty weeks old?
A spark ignited into being,
or a spirit from another place?

Perhaps when we give birth a
piece of us is stripped away
